Todd Lynch: Head Coach (Third Season; 31-40)
Todd Lynch is in his third season as the head coach of the Fitchburg State baseball team.
In only his second year at the helm, Lynch propelled the Falcons to an impressive 19-18 record with a 5-9 clip in the highly regard MASCAC Conference. The Falcons advanced to the semifinal round of the ECAC Tournament, while naming two players to the MASCAC All-Conference team.
Prior to Fitchburg State, Lynch played college baseball at Springfield College where he helped lead the Pride to a 1999 ECAC New England Championship as a starting pitcher. He completed a successful career at East Hartford High School, leading the Hornets to back to back state championships. For his efforts, Lynch was named a All-League during his senior season. Lynch moved onto play one year at Division I Central Connecticut State University before transferring to Springfield College.
Lynch graduated from Springfield in 2001 with a degree in Movement Sciences and is pursuing his Master’s Degree in Secondary Education. He has completed coaching stints at East Hartford High School, Ferni High School (Enfield, Conn.) and Groton-Dunstable High School (Groton, Mass).
He currently resides in Ashburnham, Mass. with his wife
Danielle and his son, Declan (1).
Justin Schultz is in his sixth season as the assistant coach of the Fitchburg State baseball team.
Schultz, a 2004 graduate of Fitchburg State, was a four-year letter winner for the Falcons, serving a primary role in the Falcons infield. He finished his career ranking among school leaders in several categories, including at-bats (361), hits (114), RBI's (79), stolen bases (29), and runs scored (90).
Throughout his career, Schultz helped lift the Falcons to many program milestones, including Fitchburg State's first MASCAC playoff berth in 2003. During a solid senior campaign (04), Schultz hit .316 with four homeruns and 25 RBI, leading the Falcons to a 24 win season and a seventh overall ranking in the New England Region.
Schultz graduated from Fitchburg State in 2005 with a degree in
industrial technology. He currently resides in Rindge, N.H.
with his wife Sarah and his son Hunter (1).
Wendell Anderson is in his second season as assistant coach of the Fitchburg State baseball team, working primarily with the outfielders.
Anderson comes to Fitchburg State after playing the past six seasons for Team Connecticut He was a member of two national championship teams and is currently in his fifth season of coaching with Team Connecticut baseball academy.
Prior to Team Connecticut, Anderson was a four-year letterwinner at East Hartford High School. He helped his team to two state championships while earning All-Conference and All-State honors. Anderson was drafted in the 19th round by the Florida Marlins out of high school.
Anderson was a four-year starter for the Manhattan
College baseball team. He graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of
Arts degree.
Nick Puccio is in his first season as assistant coach of the Fitchburg State baseball team. He will serve as the team's camp coordinator, while working with the Falcon hitters and infielders.
Puccio comes to Fitchburg State after serving as the Top Assistant and Recruiting Coordinator at Dean College in Franklin, Mass. In his two seasons at Dean, Puccio guided the Bulldogs to a 43-31 record, including a school record 27-11 mark during the 2009 campaign. Under the coaching of Puccio, Dean's offense ranked 23rd in the nation among all NJCAA Division II schools.
In addition to his positions at the collegiate level, Puccio has also gained a wealth of coaching experience in the highly regarded New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL). Throughout the summer, Puccio serves as an assistant coach for the New Bedford Bay Sox, while also working as the pitching coach for the Rockville Express of the Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League.
Puccio completed his collegiate career at Dean College,
where he was an infielder for two seasons. He
currently resides in Freetown, Mass.
