ECAC TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINALS
FITCHBURG, Mass. - Husson College, seeded fifth, got 25 points from Brock Bradford (Kenduskeag, ME/Bangor Christian) en-route to an 80-71 victory over host Fitchburg State College (No. 4) in the ECAC Division III New England Tournament Quarterfinals Wednesday night at Fitchburg State College's Recreation Center.
The Eagles improve to 18-10 overall and will take on No. 1 seed Emerson College in the semifinals of the ECAC Tournament on Saturday. Tipoff is TBA. The Falcons round out their season at 16-10 overall.
The Eagles took a 37-27 lead at halftime and never trailed in the contest. Husson was up by as many as 21 points in the second half, leading 57-36 with 11:56 remaining in regulation.
Husson put four players in double digits scoring, led by Bradford's 25. He also had four steals while Matt Mackenzie (Warren, ME/Medomak Valley) added 16 points and 10 rebounds. Sheraud Lee (Bridgeport, CT/Kolbe-Cathedral) chipped in 12 points and Nick Perras (Lancaster, NH/Groveton) contributed 11 points and three assists.
Brian Torres (North Dighton, MA/Dighton-Rehoboth) and Peter Uzoma (Boston, MA/Concord - Carlisle) each put home 17 points for the Falcons. Jeff Kozik (Auburn, MA/Auburn) had 13 points and five steals while Brian Skiffington (North Adams, MA/Hoosac Valley) added 10 points.
FSC forced 20 Husson turnovers while committing just 12 of its own. However, the Eagles out- rebounded the Falcons, 36-28, and shot 54.3 percent from the field to FSC's 41.9 percent shooting.
