#3 Westfield State Edges #6 Fitchburg State, 91-86
Senior Brian Torres (North Dighton, Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth) led all scorers with a game-high 30 points as Fitchburg State suffered a 91-86 loss to Westfield State in the MASCAC Tournament quarterfinals this evening.

Three Falcons Earn All-Conference Honors
The Fitchburg State men’s and women’s basketball teams combined to name three student-athletes, senior Stephanie Payette (Townsend, Mass./North Middlesex), sophomore Kelley Rogers (Lowell, Mass./Lowell) and senior Brian Torres (North Dighton, Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth), to the 2008-2009 MASCAC All-Conference teams this week.

Salem State Earns Top Seed In 2009 MASCAC Men's Basketball Championships
Salem State College has earned the top seed in the 2009 MASCAC Men's Basketball Championships, which begin on Tuesday, February 24th with quarterfinal round action and move to semi-final round play on Thursday, February 26th before concluding with the league championship game on Saturday, February 28th.
