Title: Assistant Coach

Rich Murphy is in his sixth season as an assistant coach for the Fitchburg State women’s lacrosse team. 

Murphy started his coaching career at North Middlesex Regional High School, compiling an overall record of 63-42-3 over his seven year tenure. Murphy led the varsity squad to one league title and five consecutive state tournament appearances, while sending 18 players to collegiate programs. In addition to his lacrosse duties, Murphy also served as a select ice hockey coach with the Northern Cyclones and New England Stars.

Murphy holds a degree in Plastics Engineering from the University of Lowell and is currently President of Murphy Sales, Inc. Throughout his collegiate career, Murphy was a member of the River Hawks swim team, specializing in short-course sprints.

Murphy holds a wide array of coaching experiences, including stints as the head coach of the North Middlesex Regional High School girl’s team.
